I am 'download' challenged

people send me songs all the time on yousendit and I can't get it converted to an mp3 file from a zip file. I have loads of music that I can't access and it's frustrating and embarassing to ask for help when everybody else is able to do it. ugh.

Cinnamon Dolce Latte

I am addicted to the Starbuck's Cinnimon Dolce Latte. I have been getting it every day for about 2 weeks now. Today at 8:00 am, some slack ass didn't put whipped cream or cinnamon on top. tasted like crap. so I got another one across the street. YAY!!

James Frey is a fraud

I'm reading A Million Little Pieces now, over 100 pages in. last night I read the part about his root canal without anesthesia, which is total bullshit. no dentist is going to give anyone a root canal without novocain. nor would they allow a patient to leave the office in the condition he claims to be in.
also, his book is a thumb in the eye of 12 step programs. I personally know several people who have been sober for decades. not all of them believe in God, but they learn to let go of the things they can't control, and change the things they can control. one learns about honesty and truth, not the 'truthiness' : truthiness refers to the quality of preferring concepts or facts one wishes to be true, rather than concepts or facts known to be true. also, his behavior in Hazelton would never have been tolerated, whether it's staring at a girl, brushing of chores or fighting with fellow addicts. not everyone succeeds in a 12 step program right away and it isn't for everyone. most people do faulter and relapse. but they have a place to go back to when they do fall, were the people are forgiving and stand with open arms. one also acquires a brotherhood between themselves and the fellow addicts in the group, in that they all share a common illness; addiction. it is a disease.
when I read the passages after the root canal, before going to sleep which was a big mistake, I was so angry I wanted to throw the book across the room. I couldnt' get to sleep because I was so mad. I will continue to read this book but with a jaded eye. Mr. Frey may be sober now, but I don't believe he could have done it without the help of people that belonged to a 12 step program or the rehab center. if anything, it opened his eyes. ARGGGGGGGG!

lazy saturday

yep, hangin' round, not doin' much. 53 days until we move into the new place. next few weekends can't be lazy weekends. I NEED to be productive and get some more crap together that I can give to Goodwill or Salvation Army. I can't believe I'm leaving this garden after 4 beautiful seasons. I only hope the next person that gets it takes care of it. luckily, I get some new space to plant in, but it can't be wild. we'll be sharing the yard with the landlord, so it's got to be neat and precise. much to do and look forward to this new year. YAY!!!@
